Next Stop: the Future

With abgeFRACKt, the Dresdner Philharmonie has created a concert format that has long been hugely popular with audiences – and one that now reaches far beyond Dresden. The recipe for success is simple: masterpieces of classical music, the highest musical standards and as few barriers as possible. Concerts last just an hour, the dress code is relaxed, and the “Wolfgang” app guides listeners through the programme with clear, accessible notes. Carefully designed lighting enhances the musical experience while leaving the essence of the concert unchanged: concentrated, shared listening. The result is an atmosphere that is both relaxed and intensely focused – and afterwards, audiences can meet the artists over cocktails.

SHORT CONCERT - abgeFRACKt

The success speaks for itself: abgeFRACKt is almost always sold out. The format shows just how much audiences enjoy classical music when it is presented in an open and accessible way. And it is not only those who rarely attend concerts who are drawn to it – experienced listeners, too, have discovered the appeal of these compact programmes. In the 2026/27 season, the series will therefore expand, with additional dates and new ideas.

In the future, abgeFRACKt will increasingly serve as a laboratory for new concert experiences, exploring the interplay of music and visual media – light, projection and movement in space. Here we want to experiment with everything that might enrich the concert experience of the future, together with our audiences.

EINS ZU EINS (›ONE ON ONE‹)
